A late convert to the dark side of producing imagery instead of simply enjoying it, the Monk of Mayhem's mission is to capture the beauty and variety of the willingly captured female form. I'm not in this to get rich, I'm in this to meet interesting damsels, immobilize them in fun and visually appealing ways in a variety of environments and make it a worthwhile expenditure of time and resources for everyone.
For the Monk, success means that at the end of the day I can look back at my work and say with pride... "I shot that...", and I hope that you can see a continuous, if not quick, advancement in my skills as I go along. Blame the good imagery on the models, the credit really belongs to them when a shot really works- I'm the lucky schmuck at the right place, at the right time.
At heart, I'm still a Sonoran Desert Rat. Formerly based in Tucson, Arizona, until May 2010, I relocated to Aurora, Colorado (think Denver) until February 2016 on extended contract work. After a year in Africa, I lived in the Seattle area from May, 2017 to August 2019. Now, I'm living in downtown San Diego, CA. Because I support my disabled wife (as of 2014), her service animal and myself on a single income stream, I haven't been able to afford to shoot since I've been living in two of the most expensive areas of the country to live in- no model in Seattle or San Diego can really afford to shoot trade. Many of my models in Arizona and Colorado were personal friends so we were able to get together often which worked out for us on both sides of the camera, but I haven't had a similar opportunity since I moved to Southern California.
If you're interested in modeling for a shoot, email me for the Monk's introduction packet and questionnaire with where I can send them to. All models shot with receive complimentary copies of the raw imagery from the shoot for their own uses, regardless of whether they are amateur or professional, and without regard to any additional compensation, with the provision that the model MUST include a photo credit for the Monk of Mayhem in any media where said imagery is used. Where a model ends up on my shoot priority list depends on how well her offer matches up with what I am looking to shoot with. Tattoos, piercings and other body mods will be considered on a case by case basis. If I like the model's overall look, it's on.

Thank you for watching!
I so second (and recognize) your mission statement.
Wonderful photography, it's nice to see the models happy and smiling in their "work".......especially Lissa Decay.
I may cause tears in between, but I do endeavor to make sure that I start and end with smiles!
I've actually become a big fan of your Time-Traveling Historian, truth be known!
